Ever thought of funding a larger vision with a startup business?
At lunch with one of my clients the other day, he shared a vision to do just that. His entrepreneurial venture is not about creating money – but about helping others.
He wants to raise enough money to start a private school in India to bring great opportunity and ministry to students there.
He is working for a US company now – as an employee. He is a hard worker and delivers for his employer – very well. His reputation is solid. He could be goofing off at his day job because it is not the right plan for him – but instead, he takes it seriously, because that day job is funding his way to Part B.
Part B is to invest in a US business that will pay his salary and allow him to start a school in India that is FOR profit, but use investors to get it going.
He is of such high integrity, that he wants to show the investors he is NOT taking a salary from their investment – he is paying himself from his US company.
His intentions are to use the money from the private school to fund a rural education program that will take good education to areas of India where education has been most neglected.

His vision is a great one – and frankly, he is one of the few people I see who have a clear vision of what they really want to accomplish and who they really intend to help. But it all starts with the fact he is taking excellent care of his customers in his current day job. He knows that the skills and attention to details he delivers now will be key to delivering his ultimate dream. He runs his business with excellence and passion for his work because he is working towards a bigger goal.
